PowerBI will not open the access file for Lab 1 Exercise 1, and gives error message:
“Details: "Microsoft Access: The 'Microsoft.ACE.OLEDB.12.0' provider is not registered on the local machine. The 64-bit version of the Access Database Engine 2010 Access Database Engine OLEDB provider is required to connect to read this type of file. To download the client software, visit the following site: https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkID=285987."”
When trying the link https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkID=285987, this is redirected to https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/desktop-access-database-errors, I choose “Situation 3” since my company gives me an Office 365 subscription. The solution given in “Situation 3” is to download and install the Access Database Engine redistributable (https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=13255).
>> Select language: English
>> Click “Download”
>> Choose the filenames (I actually tried a combination) and click “Next”
>> Always end with this error “We are sorry, the page you requested cannot be found. The URL may be misspelled or the page you're looking for is no longer available.” https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/confirmation.aspx?id=13255
I get the message “We are sorry, the page you requested cannot be found. The URL may be misspelled or the page you're looking for is no longer available.” to all the links (which seem to work for others in this Forum), e.g.:
