wrong api version

I have an issue with the version number that is installed under the .api folder and ain all the configuration files when I run:  pbivis new <projectName>

The .api folder and the files in it refer to version 1.6.0 but using: pbiviz --version  returns a version of 1.6.2.

Thanks to anyone who can explain why this is.

The .api folder represents API version of Power BI Csutom Visuals API.

It is not related to Power BI Service APi version.

The pbiviz --version returns version of powerbi-visuals-tools.

To check API version we would recommend to take a look at apiVersion field of pbiviz.json.

To clarify, am I correct to assume that the API version shown in the .api folder is the Power BI Service API version?
