"Reset to default" Removes Selected Page Indicator

We have a report that uses buttons linked to bookmarks.  The report also has has multiple pages.  I noticed today that when I click "Reset to default" after selecting a bookmark that a) the colored selected page indicator disappears and b) when you click into the the page itself (after clicking "Reset to default" or after subsequently selecting a page) all indication of the selected page is removed, no color indicator no shaded backgroupnd.

Any ideas what might be going on?

 -  The first image is before clicking "Reset to default"

 -  The second image is after clicking "Reset to default" (b), showing the removal of the color indicator

 -  The third images shows the removal of all Selected Page indication after clicking into a page.
