Using ODBC data source in Report Builder (Paginated Reports)

Hi Experts,

I need to connect to ODBC data source in Power BI report builder, but I don't see any option in dropdown in the latest version. Is it currently supported?

Hi @Anonymous ,

" will it populate live data or it needs to be refreshed."

Because Power BI does not import the data, you don't need to run a data refresh. The queries are sent directly to the data source.

Hi @Anonymous ,

Supported data sources for Power BI paginated reports

Power BI Report Builder does not support 'ODBC'.

You can create this dataset in PBI Desktop, then publish it to Service, and finally connect in Builder.

Step3, add  Power BI dataset connection

Hi @Lionel @v-lionel-msft,

Thanks for your response! If I create a PBI dataset with ODBC using direct query and use that in Report builder, will it populate live data or it needs to be refreshed. We have a requirement to show live data from our data source (Marklogic).
