Upgrading to Power BI Embedded from Pro

Hi team,

We've run out of embed token and get the following error message:

Status: Forbidden (403)Response: {"error":{"code":"InvalidRequest","message":"You have exceeded the amount of embed token that can be generated on a shared or ProPlus capacity. You need to purchase Azure capacities to generate embed tokens. See https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=868976"}}

When we upgrade to an A SKU, how long will it take for the reports to show via our custom app?

Are there any other things to take into consideration when switching over to an Embedded Capacity?

From my experience, it's usually a smooth transition, but wanted to know if there could be any other issues?

Thanks

Hi. You can check the usage availability of the account with this request:

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/rest/api/power-bi/available-features/get-available-feature-by-name

I'm not 100% sure but I guess you need to change the account or service principal used for embedding because that one has reach its limit even if you turn capacity on it might be late for that account.

Try using a different account with the capacity and I think it should work right a way.

I hope that helps,
