Replacing data in the field with the new value in Power BI Desktop

Hi,

I am re-building Data Model in Power BI Desktop

I have [City] text type field, in ClientsDetails table (8K records), like this:

After I'll create a dimension table:

City

city_id  city_name

1          Mt View

2          San Jose

3          Santa Barbara

4          Redwood City 

5          South San Francisco

I will need to rename [city] to [city_id] and replace text values to numeric in the ClientDetails table, as

Is there any way to do this in Power BI Desktop?

Creating a new [city_id] column, perhaps? Using DAX language?
