Quick question on page load time implications using slicers

I have a report that has about 10-15 visuals and a slicer with about 15 values on MSIT.powerbi.com. I started observing performance issues with the report and I moved the slicers to report level filters. With this change I got about 40 - 45% improvement in performance. I wanted to check if there is something incorrect in the way I have designed my report or do slicers impact report performance to that extent?

Well, a slicer is going to cause a dynamic query to take place for each visual versus a single filtering of the underlying data.
