Power BI Pro licence installation

Hi all!

Last year my organization bought several Power BI Pro licence. This year we want to start using them. Licences are payed, but our IT support team doesn't know how to install them.

We have a local Power BI Server, licences were bought from microsoft authorised partner (separately from pwer BI Server, which was installed as a part of Microsoft Enterprise licences).

Any idea how to assign licences to users?

Please see this offical document

As per that

You must be a member of the Global administrator or Billing administrator role in Office 365 in order to assign the licenses.

Hi @Anonymous ,

Just want to clarify the Licensign part ,

PowerBI Pro Licenses for PowerBI service (https://app.powerbi.com)

PowerBI Report Server Licenses comes with the SQL Server Enterprise with Software Assurance

Coming to your question for assigning the licenses,

Your Office 365 Admin have the permission to to assign the licenses

Go to:https://admin.microsoft.com/Adminportal/Home?source=applauncher#/licenses

Hi Jayendran,

thanks for swift reply.

do I understand correctly that available licences should be visible for admins in their office 365 window?

AFAIK it's not the case right now.

Do you know why this can be?
