Parameters in Embedded

Is there any way to pass a parameter to a DirectQuery report yet via the Javascript API?

I can filter after i've retrieved the report ... but would rather send a parameter to SQL before for better performance

@jnaylor

As far as I know, you can send any parameter to the a DirectQuery report, however you can set the filter in the Embed Configuration beforing embedding, though there's still some bug with the filter.

Do you encounter any performance issue?

Yes, you can do that. But all it does it loads the entire report, and then filters it once loaded.

What I would like to do is change the entire query based on a parameter.

In PowerBI Desktop a Parameters feature seems to exist which suggests this is possible, but I can't see that if this is available for use by the Embedded APIs

@jnaylor

There's no parameter as it is in Power BI Desktop. You can sumbit an idea at Power BI Ideas and vote it up.
