PBI Service rdl with custom assembly

Hi all,

I have a paginated report (rdl), leveraging a custom assembly, used to create and return an image.

It is finally working within the designer, after all the necessary config file additions and permission assertion for the method and produces the expected result when previewing it locally.

However, I am running into an issue when trying to save the report to the Power BI service where it is unable to save to the workspace.

Is it possible to use custom .net assemblies in paginated reports hosted in the Power BI Service.

Error message: Unable to save to the workspace

Error Details:

{PowerBIError.Error.Message}{Environment.NewLine}{detailsString}
ErrorCode: PaginatedReportAuthoringError
Details: An unknown error was encountered. Please try again.

The ability to do this is quite critical, as it unlocks tremendous potential and flexibility within these reports.

Hi @Jefreaky ,

To create Power BI paginated reports, you first need a Power BI Premium workspace configured.

Make sure that the workspace you save is on a dedicated capacity.

You could refer to this blog:
