Hi Everyone,
I have a doubt about PBI embedded and I don't know how to proceed.
I need to embed a report into an app. This report has a RLS for differents roles, I said, every different person who log into the app will see different filtered information.
I have been looking for information and I have some questions:
- Is it necessary to have the app in Azure?
- Is it necessary to have an Office account for every logged person or not? (I suppose not because my idea is that person will log into the app)
- Anyone had any example with this scenario?
Thanks!

- Is it necessary to have the app in Azure?
No,the application can be deployed as on-premises.
- Is it necessary to have an Office account for every logged person or not? (I suppose not because my idea is that person will log into the app)
It depends.
If you're using Power BI Embedded, No.
If you're embedding reports from Power BI.com(see how), then Yes.
- Anyone had any example with this scenario?
For Power BI Embedded, see Row level security with Power BI Embedded.
For embedding reports from Power BI.com, as each user would have an individual account, RLS just works as it does in Power BI.com, you'll set roles for users in "dataset"->"security".
If you have any question, feel free to let me know. 😉

Hi Mozasf,
For both the questions the answer is "no, its not necessary" .App can be hosted from on premises servers also and you can use custom authorization and authentication for your users using your app.
Link will be helpful - https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/power-bi-embedded/power-bi-embedded-rls
Also, also have some questions for you.If you can help me with them.
1. Are you using Import method or direct query to build your report.
2. While implementing RLS ,are you using Hieraechy beased structure to give users access to the data eg .Users, Managers,Senior Managers all see different data depending on their reportees.
Thanks.
Thanks for the answer @rkumar.
In answer to your questions:
1. Are you using Import method or direct query to build your report.
I'm using import method because my source is a mysql and It´s the only way.
2. While implementing RLS ,are you using Hieraechy beased structure to give users access to the data eg .Users, Managers,Senior Managers all see different data depending on their reportees.
I´m using a simple structure for RLS. I only need one kind of role for my differents clients, they only see their information and there´s no levels inside every client.
