How to refresh power bi reports on availability of the file

Hi,

Here is the complete scenario -

Step 1: Every day Trigger file will be placed on Source Folder (ex: C:\Source\Trigger.txt) of On-Premise server.

Step 2: Once trigger file is available, the Power BI report as to be refreshed with the latest data.

Thanks

Ashish

Hi @RAshish,

Actually it is not possible to meet the same requirement  as you wished currently. However we can set schedule refresh to work around. Please refer to the online document. For your data source, the gateway is required as well. If any other question, feel free to let me know please.

Hi @v-frfei-msft

Can we achieve this through Python or R-Script ? Any idea on this ?

Actually we are connecting to some semantic layer that depends on some ETL process.
trigger file is acting as flag for the completion of ETL.

So once the trigger file will be generated - we have to check that path ,if file is available then we need to refresh our power bi data set.

Any Way to achieve this or any roadmap to get this feature from power bi side.

Thanks

Ashish
