Direct Query with dataflows in pbi desktop

Using a direct query dataflow in pbi desktop, and a normal import mode table ( both of which are using sharepoint sources ),

im creating a calculated table using union.

I am getting the below error message ,

Anyone knows what is the issue here?

I understand I can perform this union operation in power query , but in actual case i have several other tables to combine in this union query, several of which have calculated columns , so I need to perform this union as calculated table rather than in power query.

Hi @Antmkjr,

I think this should be related to the merge operation between the 'direct query model data source and the import mode data source. (AFAIK, 'direct query model has limited most of DAX functions use on the calculated column/table)

BTW, if you are work with SharePoint files, why not directly use the source file link to get data? They can be refresh automatically on the power bi service side.

Use OneDrive for Business links in Power BI Desktop - Power BI | Microsoft Docs

Data refresh in Power BI - Power BI | Microsoft Docs

As far as I know you cannot combine a direct query dataflow with another import source - everything will be switched to import.  Please clarify.
