Custom visual GUID question

Hello there,

I have some doubt regarding GUID in pbiviz.json file when creating custom visual. I have made a custom visual and it has been published on app source recently. I made some changes to the visual and did 'pbivz. package' and imported latest .pbiviz file after packaging. I did not see any changes. It was still showing old visual version. After going through forum I found following post

https://community.powerbi.com/t5/Developer/quot-pbiviz-package-quot-does-not-update-visual-s-capabil...

Inside that post it is mentioned that this behaviour happens because of it is taking guid from app source. So I changed the GUID and imported again but this time, duplicated of same visual was imported instead of overiding the old one. My assumption is that because I changed the GUID that is why duplicate was created.

So my question is that when I send updated .pbivz file to Power BI team for approval, should I change GUID with something else or keep the old on (the one I got after creating the project for the first time)?

If you send a pbiviz package to AppSource you must keep the old GUID.
