Microsoft, can you please let me know if there is an internal api or any other way how we can get the currently log in user and the report id/page from the custom Visual iframe? I have been digging into powerbi variable and sandbox varilable and cant find any relevant information. Is it actually possible?
Also, I know that from the IFrame we have access to power BI token. Would I be able to call a graph api let's say or azure AD to get the user information based on this token?
Please help, the rocket visual idea is just waiting for your reply!
Cheers!
Nick
More info:
Is there any way to post message back to parent from IFRAME to get access to tgose variables:
var powerbi = { session : { userInfo: { name: 'Bla.Bla@test.com.au', givenName: 'Bla', surname: 'Bla', puid: '1003BFsasdFD875827CD', uoid: '2a20as672d-8cb8-4482-92ec-bb19s15f1790c', alternateEmail: '' } } };

There is a related open issue on GitHub, you may leave a comment.
That's bad. Nobody is looking into github from msft
Not exactly, we can see the progress regularly.
@all, @v-chuncz-msft Are there any updates on this? Current user and report/page id is exactly what we need for our product.
Please open an issue in our GitHub to track the status.
Please include a small description why you need to know who uses the report.

This feature is still on the backlog as there's a security concern regarding sharing user id and report id.

@v-viig Thanks for the update.
Due to this, we are unable to drill-down to other applications with single sign-on.
Many of the customer's requirement of moving from Power BI to other web application with SSO.
Please let us know the issue in implementing this feasibility in Power BI Service(PowerBI.com)
Username is actually personal information that CVs would share with third party services. Anyway this feature is on backlog and we'll consider it.
SSO is on backlog as well but there's no ETA so far.

Hello. Is there news on this?
Hi @FelipeCosta - nothing has changed in this regard since this thread was last updated. If you need an official response, it'll be better to email the custom visuals team directly (pbicvsupport@microsoft.com), as they don't currently have a representative checking the forums.

Daniel

Mr Vilesov, could you please explain those security concerns, so that we (the developers) can argue about that with our bosses why we can't have this feature in Power BI (but all other BI platforms have this)?
