Can Access DB based report be scheduled refresh in service without gateway?

Hi All,

I've built a Power Bi report which is of Access DB data source. I uploaded it in power Bi service and while I'm trying to schedule the refresh I'm facing the error which says Gateway required.

Also for the same file I tried it via One drive and Sharepoint data sources for which I'm facing an error as required Microsoft ACE.OLED 12.0 required eventhough I have AccessDB engine installed in my system.

My question is can't we schedule the Access DB file based report in power Bi service without Gateway intrevention? 

Please help me in getting out of this issue.

Hi @HaveeshPerla_1 ,

According to the offical blog, we need to configure gateway to refresh the report created by Access DB.

The on-premises data gateway acts as a bridge to provide quick and secure data transfer between on-premises data (data that isn't in the cloud) and several Microsoft cloud services.

@v-rzhou-msft even though the Access Database is on an OneDrive or a Sharepoint folder we still need a Data Gateway?
