what caused this? data refresh take very long time

It takes very long time and there is a situation like this, the gateway runs on on server, the server works well, what caused this?

Hi  @Anonymous ,

It seems that you need to restart the gateway. 

  1. Input "services.msc" in the search box. (or use Win + r in keyboard)
  2. Restart the service as showed in the picture or start it if it stopped.
  3. If step 1 and 2 failed, restart the computer and then check the status of the service.
  4. There is an official trouble shooting document, you can reference: https://powerbi.microsoft.com/en-us/documentation/powerbi-gateway-onprem-tshoot/ 
  5. Last try: uninstall gateway -> restart computer -> install the newest version. (Please consider the down time if it's a production machine.)

After all, upgrading to the latest version  is recommended.

@Anonymous , Make sure Gateway is up and running and logged in. Check Are using the service login of your login in the gateway? This usually with running and login
