using dataflow does not reduce refresh time

hi,

i have pbi file that pulls data from sql table with 40 million rows...so i created dataflow with same transformations and created a new pbi file with dataset connected to my dataflow. SO when i refresh the report, it showing me the size of that table as around 9GB ( as you can see the picture below where it shows 9.09GB for the 3rd table). But the pbi file size remains same. Why is it showing 9gb?

Another question, since the dataset is now connected to a dataflow which is already refreshed, now the refresh time has to be reduced but it is taking same time.  Without dataflow it took me about 25 min to refresh., and after i conncted to dataflow, it is taking almost same time. It supposed to be very quick from wat i heard?

can anyone explain why ?

hi, @Anonymous

That should be the size of the query data.

and for refresh from dataflow, you may refer to this blog:
