Hi
I am using SSAS model to connect power bi desktop
I have to do custom filtering on my data
our users have excel as the data source with 30k to 50k records for custom filtering
how can we import those records into the power bi for custom filtering?
I have tried smart filter, smart filter pro, dev scope for my purpose but it didn't solve my issue,
is there any filter to copy-paste the records form excel and do custom filtering?
or do we have any custom code to filter the records?
Regards
nanda
hi @nanda529
For your case, do you use power bi desktop live connect to SSAS.
If so, you could not get data from any other datasource any more, so your requirement is not available for now.

Hi,
open Power BI Desktop > Get Data > Excel and use the workbooks as source.

Hey @nanda529
Can you further describe what exactly you are trying to accomplish? My initial thought is to just use Get Data from excel and then fiter in the query editor. If you're trying to display all of the data, but then allow filtering on the table visual, just add slicers.
If this helps please kudo.
If this helps solve your problem please accept it as a possible solution.
HI
I am using SSAS model to connect power bi desktop where I have a matrix
: I have row as 'product id' and value as 'Total sales' coming from SSAS model connected to power bi
I have to do custom filtering on my data,
I have data in excel i.e say product id, like more than 30k product id, 's in an excel,
Now I have to copy and paste those id's in power bi for custom filtering,
I have tried 'Filter by list by devscope' but only allows 500 records, but I need more than 500 records to be copied and pasted for custom filtering
, is there any filter to copy-paste the records form excel and do custom filtering? or do we have any custom code to filter the records?
