I have myself in an admin muddle....
I log into Desktop and into Service with the same info - on this no problem.
When I open desktop software - it is recommending to me that I download the newest release - which I want to do as I have been off line for several weeks and want to get caught up; and when I click on that reminder this opens a generic download page at the power BI web site....so far so good.....
But when I press download however it is giving me a screen asking me my name, etc as if I am a total stranger even though I'm signed in and this has me really confused...... I definitely don't want to start a new account but can't seem to trigger the download of the newest desktop release otherwise..... is this right? am I suppose to re-introduce myself each month?

@CahabaData You shouldn't need to... The easiest way to skip all the verification stuff is to download from the PowerBI Service.
Just log in there and it automatically downloads the latest version.

hey thanks Eno. For me it wasn't automatic - was signed into Service for over an hour before getting your post. But I found the download button and triggered that and indeed it did the install without the new introduction stuff.....
