the positioning of userelationship

Hi,

I try to calculate no. of employees left the organization within a certain period.

I have written two measures, which I thought would generate the same results. However, only the first formula works properly. The 2nd measure always give huge numbers. Since in both measures, I have linked employee[Exit Date] with Calendar[Date], why the calendar filter didn't work in the second measure?

#leavers =

VAR Leavers =

CALCULATE (

COUNTROWS ( Headcount ),

NOT ISBLANK ( Headcount[Exit Date] ),USERELATIONSHIP ( 'Calendar'[Date], Headcount[Exit Date] )

)

RETURN

Leavers

#leavers 2 =

VAR Leavers =

CALCULATE (

COUNTROWS ( Headcount ),

NOT ISBLANK ( Headcount[Exit Date] )

)

VAR Leavers_filtered =

CALCULATE (

Leavers,

USERELATIONSHIP ( 'Calendar'[Date], Headcount[Exit Date] )

)

RETURN

Leavers_filtered

Hi, @Anonymous

Please correct me if I wrongly understood your question.

In my opinion, in the second measure, Leavers in the first VAR is already defined. It means that the first VAR (Leavers) is a fixed-number in the whole-second measure.
