sort date columns in matrix

Hi all, I have this scenario where I have two columns and I would like to sort them in date seperatley in a matrix.

for example:

ideal ↓↓

	variable 1		variable 2
dept 1	2019/01	2019/02	2019/01	2019/02
dept 2

now ↓↓

	2019/01		2019/02
dept 1	variable 1	variable 2	variable 1	variable 1
dept 2

Is this possibe? Any idea?
