set 3 default cities on the bing map

Hi,

I have one Location filter at the top and a bing map.  I have cities list.  If I select any cities from the filter, the map shows that city.  Now I want to set 3 default cities in the map.  I used filter in the map it showed 3 cities on the map but filter control stopped working.

City

Austin
Dallas
New York
Akron

From the above table I want to set Austin, New York and Dallas as default city in the map.  And, when I select the city from the drop down the map should show that city:

Please help me with the above scenario.

I guess this is not supported, you can only create a measure to show default cities, but measures cannot be used on the map location field. And as far as I know, there is no other custom map visuals that can set measures as locations.

The only possibility is to create the measures to show the Long and Lat values but this can be complex and might not be feasible depending on your model. And as far as I know, there is no other custom map visuals that support setting measures as locations.

Thank you for the reply.  I do not have any values in my table whereas you used sum in the measure above.  it's all text values.

@mudgalbk , Best is that you save 3 cities in the slicer.

The second is to have an independent table for city and have slicer on that and use a measure like

calculate(sum(Table[Value]), filter(Table, Table[city] in {"Austin", "New York", "Dallas"} || Table[City] in values(City[City])))
