seprate number with - (dashes) using power query

Hi

I have a number like this 123456789. Can I use power query only (no formula) to trasfer it to 123-456-789. Thank you very much for the help in advance.

If you need the orignal also, just duplicate the original column before applying the steps

In Power Query, Select the number column and select "Split Column" By Positions and enter 3 as number of characters. This will split the number into three columns. Then create custom column and enter formula "Number.ToText([Column1])&"-"&Number.ToText([Column2])&"-"&Number.ToText([Column3]). This will give you your desired result 123-456-789.
