scenario modeling

Hello,

I am new to Power BI and want to model different cost scenarios that vary following the implemenation rate for the year each new vulnerable population group is added into the program from 2019-2025.

"Percent change" =

0% (no implementation)

20% (introduction year)

40% (year2),

60% (year3)

80% (year4)

100% (year5+)

"Vulnerable Group" and "total costs"

Pregnant women     $XXX,XXX

Children <5

Elderly

Etc...

"Year" =

2019

2020

2021

2022

2023

2024

2025

As I want to be able to select/vary the population groups AND the introduction years for any particular population, I have introduced a hierarchy slicer.   For example, I would like to be able to select "pregnant women" and "2022" (as the introduction year) and the table would autocalculate the total cost associated with pregnant women in 2019 as 0% of the "total cost" for pregnant women, 2020 as 0% of the "total cost" for pregnant women, 2022 as 20% of "total cost" for pregnant women, 2023 as 40% of "total cost" for pregnant women, 2024 as 60% of "total cost" for pregnant women, etc...

I would like to have this functionality for all population groups and years.

Finally, I would like to generate a stacked column chart (by population group) that shows the total cummulative cost on the y-axis and year on the x-axis.   Please find attached my working file.  Thanks much for any guidance you can provide.

Thanks much.

Hi @Anonymous,

As I know we cannot create a calculated table based on Slicer. So maybe it is hard to meet your requirement. Or you can create measures to work on it, however am not sure I have understand what is your excepted result. Could you please share the excepted result to me?

Regards,

Frank
