refresh automatically published report

Hi all,

Is it possible to automatically refresh the publication as soon as a data is updated?

To be more precise, in PowerBI Desktop, I have a database that I update.
I would like the published report to be updated automatically without having to click on the "Publish" button in PowerBI Desktop again.

Thank you very much.

Jules

1 ACCEPTED SOLUTION

Hi @julespoujol ,

If the source datasets come from SharePoint and onedrive, there is no need to configure the gateway, just set the credentials and set the schedule refresh.

Hi @julespoujol ,

You need to confirm what the connection is.

Refer to:

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/connect-data/refresh-data

After that, you need to install the appropriate version of the gateway.

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/connect-data/service-gateway-onprem

You can also learn about this API

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/rest/api/power-bi/datasets/refreshdataset

I copy the missing part

Morever, how can i update automatically my dashboard on powerBI destkop whitout cliking on the button "Update" ? ( I mean, when i update my excel file on Onedrive, the dashbaord change instantly and automatically)

What ever you have used in desktop for development. Same need to be used in power BI.

Update without button. As far as know there only option for Live or direct not for import mode.

@Mariusz , looking forward for your update.

Thank you @amitchandak .

I'll try again with the same password.

When the form indicate "Identification Windows" that mean I have simply use the name of my session Windows where the files are save (Jules Poujol for my exemple) or I have to put something before (Domain\Jules Poujol for example) ?

Is it possible to use a "LiveConnect" with my excel file save on my One Drive entreprise ?

Have a nice day !

Jules

Hi @julespoujol

You can schedule refresh in the service, use Power Automate, Power shell or Automatic Page refresh, please see the links below.
