"We Found extra characters at the end of JSON input" BSON data

Hello people!

I'm using the CData connector to use mongodb with power bi in direct query mode (btw if you know a better way to do it please let me know as well) but when I connect pbi to the collection I'm getting the messaje in subject. The collection was imported to mongodb from a dump file and has some bson data types (BinData, NumberLong, NumberInt).

Do you know how to deal with this?

Hi @Anonymous

I found a solution from this link but haven't tested yet.

https://www.reddit.com/r/PowerBI/comments/ei595a/working_direct_with_mongodb/

Connector: https://github.com/sgoley/DirectQuery-for-ODBC-in-PowerBI/tree/master/ODBCMySQLDirect

Additionally, for the data type you circled, it seems there is possibility transforming BinData to String and NumberLong/NumberInt to Long/Int.

https://docs.mongodb.com/manual/reference/operator/aggregation/convert/
