Hi guys just chekcing..in tableau it works....
1- i have created multiple reports in same workbook using same data source now in bar chart if i select specific bar then other reports are filtered based on this selection ?
2- in Dasbhoard i have pinned items from a report again if i select 1 bar of that item and when it re-direct to that report report is based on only selected bar value ?

Hi @shashank
Just dragging the field to the filter only then allows you to make a selection in the filter.
Selections you make in the slicer on the canvas will still only affect visuals on the page.
It would be great if a visual could be used as a global filter and this has been a much requested feature. Feel free to vote for it here which will email you updates on progress.
Hi @shashank
Currently you can only filter other visuals in the same report page by selecting and item on a bar-chart. If you'd like the selection to be a global filter for all report pages, you'll need to use the filter menu on the right.
AS per your comment what i could understand use filter pane visible in right side..but again if i drag any dimension as report level filter and use the same dimention in slicer so that user can filter that dimension using that filter it does not work ?
Hi Phil,
thanks for your reply, when you say use filter at right side what does that mean, can you explain or give some ref link ?
In Power BI Desktop they are here
agreed but if i drag any dimension as report level filter and use the same dimention in slicer so that user can filter that dimension using that filter it does not work ?
