power bi drill through questions

I'm trying to create a drill through from a donut visual .  Here's an example of one of them 
I can easily drill through by using Site.

Is there anyway i can drill through my data by instead of using site (as you see here) but using the detail (assessments by site) as a drill through, or must it be the value that's in the legend such as Site?

Simply put, can I use the detail of the drill through instead of what's in the legend, or must the drill through only be what's in the legend?|

Did you mean the 'drill through' feature does not work on the detail data bars when you work with the donut chart? What version of power bi desktop are you working on?

I test on my side and find both 'legend' and 'detail' fields can work with drill-through features. (drill through feature can accurately extract the detail data bar legend and detail value and filter on the target table)

I'm not sure if I understand but It sounds like you are saying you can drill through using the detail field?
It seems like the only drill down available is from the legend. The detail is ignored. Is this correct to you ?

Hi, 

You can drill through the filed used in the detail option. But the same field must me placed in the Drill through filter section.

For Eg., you have developed a donut chart using LEVEL_2_DESC and Actual_Qty but you have the LEVEL_1_DESC In the Detail box then you have to use LEVEL_1_DESC in the Drill through filter box so that you can drill through LEVEL_1_DESC
