Hi all,
Hope someone here have tried to embed PowerBI in Dynamics 365 F&O. What I want to know is, by looking at this doc ->
especially at this point :
Create a new role against a column in the data model that contains the Company field. Name the new role CompanyFilter. A COMPANY field must be present in the data model to restrict access by company.
In the Table filter DAX expression field, enter [COMPANY]=username().
I didn;t see how it is working. Since company in F&O is with some 3-4 digit character like "USMF", "DEMF", then when it is filter like point no 2, it is filtering with username(). My understanding this function will return our email id. how it is works then so it can filter my data based on the company ?
Thanks
Hi @admin_xlsior ,
This should be a special setting in Dynamics365, the return value of UserName() will not be compared with the value in the [Company] column. Each value in the [Company] column represents a member group of a business unit, and UserName() should be compared with the accounts in the member group.
Best regards,
Lionel Chen

I'm sorry, but I'm not really understand what are you saying. Also the D365 I'm referring to is D365 F&O which a bit different by no using Dataverse.
Thanks
