pin live page

I have a published Power BI report which I want to use for multiple dashboards.

The report covers results across the entire company which means it covers results across multiple contracts the company work on. each page has slicers to the end users can select all contracts or just specific contracts. This report has been published as a dashboard for high level stakeholders to be able to review any contract. Using the same report I want to create coontract specific dashboards. To do this I have been selecting contract X on the slicer and then pinning this live page to a contract X dashboard, however when you view the contract X dashboard the slicer slelction is not carried over and you see the full company. I need to make it simple for end users but I dont want to build 8 reports for 8 dashboards.

Is the any reason why the slicer selection does not hold when you pin to a dashboard?

@Anonymous Under reports you need to select contract X on slicer then File -> Save. Once saved then pin live page as report and it should work.

Thanks.... this is exmaple what I was wanting to avoid.

I wanted multipe dashboards feeding off one report.... not multiple reports.

@Anonymous only if you do Save As then you will end up with multiple copies of report. By doing Save you're saving changes to that report only which also includes your slicer selection.

Yes but any future changes to the report will need to be made to all 8 reports

For your requirement, I suggest you use the Row Level Security to limit data access for different kind of users. For high level stakeholders, they can see all data. For other users, they can only see some specific contracts. Please see:
