mySQL random connections

When we open Power BI on the desktop client (PBIX file). It will automatically create a connection to the tables that are referenced in the file for some reason. Does anyone know why the connections start automatically issuing SELECT commands even if it has not been instructed to yet?

Hi @drewburken ,

You can enter to query edit and turn off 'include report refresh' option to disable report loading update or switch to import mode.

HI @drewburken ,

I think you are working with direct query connection mode, right? If this is a case, power bi will try to update data source every time you interact with visual data or loading data model .

Yes, we are using power query. Is there any way to turn this off?
