manpower

Hello (Everyone),

I think my understanding of DAX will allow me to create a "Manpower" dashboard that will rely on a variety of start times (and pick rates for those start times) to determine if we have enough "Hands on deck" to complete each night's demand.  Neverthless, before I dive into my Data, I thought it might be wise to see if there are any 'simple' ideas / strategies for such a Dashboard?

I'm able to see (reporting wise):

AVG number of cases (to be picked) ...which are released at specific times throughout the evening

AVG pick rate (cases per hour) ...of each employee

Start Times (for each employee)

The goal is to 'query' a fact table containing each employee's start time, and then use a few (DAX) measures to determine if the Start Times of each employee (and their individule pick rate) will inform us if we have enough Manpower for that evening.

Feel free to pass along any ideas ...or wish me luck.

Jayson

@jayson_chabot,

Do you have issues when creating these measures? If so, please share sample data of  your table and post expected result here so that we can provide  you appropriate DAX.

After you create reports in Power BI Desktop, you can publish the reports to Power BI Service, set schedule refresh for your dataset, and pin visuals to a dashboard.  Moreover, you can set alerts to notify you when data in your dashboard changes beyond limits you set, which may achieve the requirement that inform you if you have enough Manpower. For more details about data alert, please review this article: https://powerbi.microsoft.com/en-us/documentation/powerbi-service-set-data-alerts/ .

Regards,
Lydia
