i was working on a power BI desktop and suddenly the software stopped working, and the PBIX file has disapear, i checked the recycle bin and it is not there, fortunately i had a backup file, but is it normal !!!!!
Solved! Go to Solution.
No it's not normal. Power BI is an "in memory" database which means it can use a lot of RAM; the Query engine also can use quite a lot of processer. This was software that was originally designed to run on servers but it's available to us regular folks now that our desktops are much faster. The software runs best in my experience on newer machines with at least 8GB of RAM. Also make sure you're running the 64 bit version of the PBI application.

Ya it will happen based on your data load and system requirements.
