lookupvalue linked tables

Hi,

Please can you tell me how to do a lookupvalue function that returns a value from another (linked) table? The below test code doesn't work. A workaround is to create a column called "Name" in the transactions table, bring in the product name for each transaction row and then do the LOOKUPVALUE against that column (and not the "products" table), but please can you tell me how to avoid having to do that workaround?

=LOOKUPVALUE(products[Name],transactions[ProductID],"12345678")

Thanks,

CM

Re: lookupvalue linked tables

@CloudMonkey

Normally the first 2 arguments of LOOKUPVALUE are from the same table

=LOOKUPVALUE(products[Name],transactions[ProductID],"12345678")

So may be try this

=
LOOKUPVALUE ( products[Name], products[ProductID], "12345678" )
