large data from CRM Dynamics results in slow power bi desktop on every change in query/columns

Hi,

I wonder if there is a good way of handling large CRM Dynamics data in Power BI desktop.

The problem is that once the data is loaded into PBI - Desktop it takes hours before a change (like a data column format) is saved and published. It will goto all the data all over again.

I know it's possible to use OData filtering, but is there a better way?

Curious as to how large is large data.

I assume you are pulling in via the OData feed or are you pointing straight at the database?

Are you using CRM Online and have you tried the Content Pack?

I have a blog article on building a CRM dashboard with the Microsoft "Power" tools that may or may not be helpful:

Nice post! Unfortunately it starts loading all the data in step 5 even if I select "Only create connection". Large table is all contacts in DB. Because this is Online it's impossible to do a count on contacts, but there a thousands!
