is there any way to let Power BI desktop to refresh the data?

Hi,

In my Power BI desktop, I get data from my local mysql server database, I will update the data in mysql by scripts automatically, so I also want to let the Power BI desktop to refresh the source data automatically, and then publish to Power BI service.

Is there anyway (both Power BI Desktop setting or scripts) to achieve my target?

If you have any unclear points about my question please let me know.

@hemingt  as far as i know you  can't automatically update power bi desktop, you need to do it in the service via a gatetway for on premise sources

do you mean power bi service get source data directly via a gateway for on premise sources?

but the only thing is the Power Bi service is less power than Power BI desktop, such as relation management for the columns of different tables.

To enable automatically schedulated refresh, you need to configure a Data Gateway for your on premise data source. You get data and create report as what you did before in desktop, but you should publish the report to Power BI service because desktop doesn't support scheduled refresh.

I have designed the reports in Power BI desktop and published to Power BI service through Power BI desktop.

In the coming months, only thing need I to do, is to open the pbix file with Power BI desktop, then refresh the data and publish again.

This is so bored that I want to let it do by automatically. It is so sad if I must do it manually.

Unfortunately, automatically refreshing data in Power BI desktop is not supported right now.
