Let's say we have a csv file like below, and created a line chart with SMILES column in X and Sum of ID in Y. How to show SMILES depictions in the X-axis as chemical structure? SMILES: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Simplified_molecular-input_line-entry_system
ID | SMILES |
1 | CC |
2 | OCCCCCO |
3 | c1ccccc1 |
4 | c1ccccc1O |
5 | C1=CC=CC=C1 |
6 | OC1=CC=CC=C1 |
Hi seanxiao,
Currently, power bi doesn't support this feature. You can submit your idea here:

Thanks Jimmy. I've got a work around by adding some additional python scripts.
Any chance you could share the Python snippets? Or a link so I can modify for my application? I'm trying to link up our SMILES into structures in PowerBI right now...
Thanks!
Kyle
@KAVIV ,
Hope you will get the python script.
Just in case nothing works out, try this work-around: Disable X-Axis labels and place an image with SMILES structures.
Give a thumbs up if this post helped you in any way and mark this post as solution if it solved your query !!!
I would be grateful for such a script too! thank you!
