You can create measure like DAX below.
Count for Gender= CALCULATE(COUNT(Employee[Emp_ID]), FILTER(Employee, Employee[Gender]=MAX(Employee[Gender])))
Drag the field Gender and measure Count for Gender into the Table visual, return the result will meet your demand.

Right now you're in SQL right? In Management Studio it's:
Select count(gender) as amount, gender from dbo.Employee
group by gender
In dax:
male = calculate(count(Employee[gender]);Employee[gender] = 'male'))
female = calculate(count(Employee[gender]);Employee[gender] = 'female'))
