how to count the values in column

hi everyone,

I am newbie in Power BI. 

I have problem i am nor being able to solve. Pls see below table i generated

my problem is that the column on left has a single value and all want to do is calculate the count of distinct elements in the second column. on selecting the count feature it gives me the total figure, not the value that is present in the filtered table.

Any help is appreciated

Hello.

Try using DISTINCTCOUNT instead of COUNT if you want the number of distinct values in a given column in case you are creating a Measure.

If you want to count distinct values in a table use Count (Distinct)

P.S: Always make sure you have the latest Power BI version or you might miss some cool features!

that is a great tip. though a measure is created for the table. I want to create a measure for a dynamic table that I created using the tables that are there in the report view. how can I  do that
