give colour to duplicate value

We have a list with conversations see example below.

Each conversation has an unique conversationID

We want to know that a new conversation has started by giving each conversationid a color

is this possible, I can not find out how...

@Annemie,

I'm afraid in format pane of table chart, there's no such option currently. As a workaround, you can create a measure like below to set color in advance for every id:

Color =
SWITCH (
    TRUE (),
    MAX ( Table1[conversationid] ) = "5qe1873be", "#b20000",
    MAX ( Table1[conversationid] ) = "8we1841de", "#ffc04c",
    MAX ( Table1[conversationid] ) = "9qs7848be", "#a500ff"
)

Then click format-> conditional format-> select conversationid-> configure background color like below:

1.PNG

The result is like this:

Hi,

this could be a solution if there where a limited number of unique ID's but it is an evergrowing where lines are added automatically as conversations with our chatbot continues. They want to decide the sentiment score of each line in the conversation and see that score in a graph, so it is not possible to combine the values of each conversation in one line.

And it is not possible to determine the unique id's in advance.

Maybe its just not (yet) possible, but I guessed asking cant hurt 🙂

@Annemie,

As you mentioned, unfortunately I'm afraid this couldn't be achieved currently, actually it's a good feature so I would suggest you to post your idea here to help power bi be improved, your contribution will be appreciated.
