I have the case as below and need your help.
Date | department | total staff |
jan 2020 | sales | 10 |
june 2020 | cs | 5 |
may 2020 | sales | 8 |
feb 2021 | cs | 4 |
above table show the staff per department: for sales they have 10 staff on jan 2020 and before time, the staff amount unchange untill may 2020 is 8. the same explain for cs department.
so i need the table like
jan 2020 sales 10
feb 2020 sales 10
.....
may 2020 sales 8
march 2021 sales (Still ) 8
I need the table as above to count the order per sales.
any recomend to do like this

I created a custom-date-table and connected it to the main table.
Each month is pulling the information that is the staff count, and if it is blank, then it looks for the previous nonblank value.
