filter for measure

Hey all,

I have the following problem: I have a names-table with the column name, price and year.

There can be the same year for different names.

There is a second table for group average with 1 column 'year' from 2009 - 2019.

I would like to create a measure where I calculate the average price over all names per year.

For the case that there is no entry in my names-table, I don't want this year to appear in the second table.

Can you help me how to filter this condition?

Thanks, Susanne

hi @Anonymous

Just create a relationship between these two tables by year column.

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/desktop-create-and-manage-relationships

Then create a simple average measure as below:

Measure = CALCULATE(AVERAGE('names-table'[Price]))
Now drag Year filed from table2 and this measure into a visual.
If not your case, please share some simple sample pbix file and your expected output.
