default summarization

I tried to set default summarization on a particular column and it won't take.   I can do it on other columns but there are 2 that I want that it says its set to count, but the sum symbol doesn't show on the column name , and it doesn't give a count.

That's likely because they are Text fields versus numeric.

ok, that must be it. I thought you could get a count , not trying to do sum naturally. thanks
