dax formula for the latest/recent data - who covid19 data

hi,

kindly ref sample data.

when i select a range of dates from the period selector, it displays the total/summation of those data. i'm only able to get data for a specific date (incl the latest date) when i select the specific date from the period selector.

i wish to have both the total figures + the latest data figures for the latest/most recent data on the matrix.  kindly guide me on how to get the dax for the latest data figures for the latest/most recent data (as i'm already able to get the total figures).

i have just found the solution to get the latest data for new cases + new deaths as follows:

CALCULATE( [NewCases], LASTDATE('cv19-data'[Date_reported] ) )

CALCULATE( [NewDeaths], LASTDATE('cv19-data'[Date_reported] ) )

with those measures i'm now able to show the figures for the latest new cases & new deaths based on a specified date(s).
