Hi,
I am working on the below dataset to show it on the waterfall chart:
Month | Parameters | Value |
Jan-20 | Production | 90 |
Jan-20 | loss1 | 5 |
Jan-20 | loss2 | 4 |
Jan-20 | loss3 | 1 |
Feb-20 | Production | 94.20 |
Feb-20 | loss1 | 3.60 |
Feb-20 | loss2 | 1.20 |
Feb-20 | loss3 | 1 |
Mar-20 | Production | 84.6 |
Mar-20 | loss1 | 5.4 |
Mar-20 | loss2 | 3.7 |
Mar-20 | loss3 | 6.3 |
Apr-20 | Production | 92.50 |
Apr-20 | loss1 | 1.10 |
Apr-20 | loss2 | 2.30 |
Apr-20 | loss3 | 3.10 |
I need to customize the colours of loss1, loss2 and loss3 instead of green and also how to show losses downwards instead of upwards:
Please suggest how to achieve this.
Thanks

Hi, @jitpbi
If you want to customize bar color, you can try Simple Waterfall. You need set ‘Format using Sentiments’ to off, and then customize bar color.

Just found a quick workaround for this visual. If you're looking to only have one consistent color across all dimensions in the waterfall chart, you can use a calculated measure with a hex value:
This will affect all of the dimensions and allows you to change all colors of the chart in one place, janky though this solution may be.
Actually, the bar color option is empty, I think because the updates of power BI.
@v-cazheng-msft i am trying same method after turn off Format using Sentiments . bar color section its empty
