Hi, i am new to Power BI and need some help with time measures. My company uses a custom calendar that I have created a date table for. it ususally starts around the end of March and each quarter is made up of 4 weeks, 4 weeks and 5 weeks. My date table includes the financial year, quarter, week and period number for every date and goes back a few years. What I would like to do is create a card to show the value for a particular week (selected by filter on a slicer) and have another card to show the value for the same week in the previous year. i would also like to do the same for period. The time intelligence within Power BI doesn't work as it is for a standard calendar. Can someone help with the syntax for the measures? Any help would be appreciated.
I'm currently facing a similar issue - did you manage to resolve this at all? 🙂
Hi @emmaclarke83,
Here is a video about how to take a 445 Calendar summarized table and turn it into a table you can use in PowerBI DAX formulas. Could you go to check if it helps in your scenairo?
Regards
HI thanks for this but I already have a date table with one date per row etc. What I need help with is the syntax to compare the same week number or period in the previous year.
Hi @emmaclarke83,
Could you post your table structures with some sample/mock data, and the expected result against the data? So that we can further assist on this issue? It's better that you can share a sample pbix file. You can upload it to OneDrive or Dropbox and post the link here. Do mask sensitive data before uploading.
