create windows explorer view

Hi,

I am returning simple data into Power BI currently and would like to return in a view similar to window explorer folders...

e.g. i have 4 columns with a tree relationship similar to address in reverse

County | Town | Suburb | Street

I am returning the data sorted by each clumn in turn showing the realtionship petween each. I would like a result that shows just a list of County's, then a click to drill will show all Towns in the select County, then selecting a Town will list all the Suburbs in that Town and so on, similar to drilling through folders in WIndows Explorer.

Is this possible, and if so how?

Thanks all

Solved it. And thankyou again for your help. When i started watching the vid for how to add the Hierarchy Chart Visual I noticed another visual in teh Marketplace called HierarchySlicer Which does exactly what I am looking for...

so you have led me to my solution, for that you have my gratitude Smiley Happy

Kind regards

Ian

Hi @RandomBI

You can create a tree map in Power BI Desktop to achieve your requirement.

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/power-bi-visualization-treemaps

If you have any question to implement in your scenario, please ask me and provide detailed information.

Best Regards

Maggie

Hi Maggie,

Thanks so much for taking the time to reply to this thread, but the Tree solution you suggested is not quitw the result i am looking for. I would like to see something more along the lines of this...

Do you have any suggestions for that, any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Ian

Hi @RandomBI

After searched, i can't find a visual which competely meets your requirement.

I test with a matrix visual with hierarchy.

Use matrix

Also, you can have a look at these custom visuals

Hierarchy Chart

TreeViz Custom Visual
