Hello all,
how can i change a branch code 001, 002, 003, ect, to remain 001, 002, 003. When i change the data type to whole it becomes a 1, 2, 3. The only way to have the branch code remain 001, 002, 003 is to select the data type as text. The reason why i need the number to be 001, 002 is because my source data for branch shows as 001, 002. Thank you.
Hey @laehatlav
You cannot have number format with leading zeros. See this thread for example: https://community.powerbi.com/t5/Desktop/Leading-Zero/td-p/23131
Easiest solution to still have 001, 002, etc. is to create a healper column with the branches formatted as number for calculations and such, but then use the text column for your visuals.
If this helps please kudo.
If this solves your problem please accept it as a solution.
Why you want to convert.
Unless you have branch number >1000. it will not create a sorting issue.
You can have a new column as number
new column = table[branch]
And change its data type to number
Appreciate your Kudos. In case, this is the solution you are looking for, mark it as the Solution. In case it does not help, please provide additional information and mark me with @
