Hello everyone! I'm having this issue where I have a matrix with a measure on value, and date field in column and another dimension on rows. Although the column subtotals are turned on, the subtotals column won't actually show up on my matrix. For some reason it shows up as expected when dates are sliced on the date slicer but ONLY when dates are sliced. Any help would be greatly appreciated! I've attatched some pictures for more clarification too.
I can't scroll any farther to the right, but hypothetically I should be able to to see the totals. 2/14 to 5/23 are full dates
It's only when I slice the dates does it actually show up.
Thank you again for your help!
Thank you @TomMartens and @v-juanli-msft for taking the time to help.
The measure is
Measure = DISTINCTCOUNT('mytable'[person])
The column used in the DAX is a second text field in the table:
Row is a categorical text field: Hometown
Date field is a date with type date: 9/15/2018
Everything is native to one table
Hi @Anonymous
I can't reproduce your problem, could you check if you update to the last version?
Best Regards

Hey @Anonymous ,
can you share the pbix?
If not create a pbix that contains sample data, but still reflects your data model. Upload the file to onedrive or dropbox and share the link. If you are using an Excel file to create the sample data, share the xlsx as well.
Regards,
Tom
Hi @Anonymous
As tested, it shows column total on my side.
Could you share me more information so to solve this problem?
For example, what columns/measures are added into matrix buckets (value, row, column)?
are they from the same table or different table?
a simple data example for test?
Best Regards
Maggie
Hey @Anonymous ,
did you check if the measure contains some DAX like this:
if(isfiltered('<tablename>'[columnname])
, sum('<othertablename>'[othercolumnnam2])
, blank()
)
If the column is not filtered the DAX statement will return BLANK().
Please consider sharing the DAX statement you are using inside the visual.
Regards,
Tom
